Extremely fine book plate Roman statuary engravings from "Le Musee royal, Cabinet du Roi" by Henri Laurent, Paris, imp. P.Didot, 1818. Each plate is accompanied by a text page describing (in french) the featured statue in great details giving size, provenance, extent of repairs and restauration, as well as the mythologie that inspired the statue. Texts are by Visconti, De Ciarac and Guidot. In all 40 plates. Circa: 1818
